cmn 3104: WOMEN AND MEDIA

CMN 3104 - Women and Media - is an elective course for students in the Department of Communication. Generally, the course takes place in one 3-hour lecture per week.

The course covers the following topics:

  • The roles and representations of women in media, behind the scenes and in front of them;

  • The relationship between the representation and treatment of women in media and the representation and treatment of women in everyday life. 

I use a variety of assessment tools in this class, including short essays, a group research project and a self-reflection exercise. My course syllabi, teaching evaluations and student feedback from this course can be found below:
