COVID-19 Research projects
Good research doesn’t do anything sitting in a drawer or on your desktop! This is why a key part of research involving disseminating your project and sharing knowledge.
This semester in CMN3103C, Qualitative Research, you were asked to conduct a semester-long qualitative (obvs!) research project related to COVID-19 - chosen because this was an experience that we have al shared over the past two years and have a common understanding about. To complete this project you were asked to
Prepare a literature review on your topic that brought together sources from academia, news media and government, to narrow down your topic and identify a gap that needs further study;
Conduct an interview with an expert in your topic area to gain inside knowledge of your area of study;
Run a focus group to understand the lived experience of those affected by your topic.
Then - last but not least - you were asked to prepare a 10-15 minute video presentation, communicating the findings of these steps and your overall conclusions. Why does your research matter? How does it fit into the bigger picture related to COVID-19? Check out the videos below to find out!
