SDCC2019 - Two Days Out

Welcome to San Diego!

ICYMI, I’m in San Diego for 2019 Comic-Con International (SDCC or SDCC2109, as it’s affectionately known). SDCC doesn’t start until Wednesday, with Preview Night, but being paranoid about flight delays, flight overbooking and having never visited San Diego before, I decided to head down a couple of days early.

What a great decision! Not only did I get to see some of the work that goes into actually setting up for Comic-Con (and therefore a tiny glimpse into what the city looks like before and after), but I also had an opportunity to do a bit of exploring on my own. For me, this means lots of walking, lots of running, and trying out several gyms - both big names and little ones in the fitness industry.

My biggest recommendation - fitness-wise - so far! Hardcore Fitness - Downtown San Diego’s Fight Camp class with RJ. This class totally kicked my butt - part boxing, part conditioning, all awesome. About halfway through we were sent on a stair sprint up to the second floor. Well, I really gave it my all - not realizing that we were only halfway through the class! I’ve also tried out F45 Downtown and Pure Indoor Cycling since arriving yesterday. For all the runners out there, next time you’re in San Diego, add in a jog along the Harbourfront - you won’t regret it.

More to come! Check back daily for updates on my San Diego and SDCC2019 experience…
